Knitting and Writing and Decorating... Oh my!!

You know... I had a great post all written out.  I wrote it out on Wednesday and was going to post it today.  However, inspiration changes.

I am really really really excited about something I am doing over the next three months.  It initially was just knitting related for me, but has now filtered into some creative writing.

It is my Harry Potter Knitting and Crocheting House Cup over on Ravelry, I am having a lot of fun with it.

I have explained it before this... 'students' sign up and get sorted into houses (being that it is based off of the Harry Potter Books and Movies think those houses) and then compete for the House Cup (virtually of course).  It is a lot of fun for me and pushes me to knit and create objects.

But I am really excited this term (a term is three months long and is equivalent to a year in Harry Potter time).  This is my sixth term and I have really made some friends.

It has also pushed my writing creativity because in my pride (the dorm room with in Gryffindor) I have introduced the Gryffindor Ferrets.  Their stories will be posted on Furry Slinkies every Tuesday.  I am having fun.

But why this has preempted the post I had written.  Well, I made a board to track what I am doing... and I wanted to show it off.

See... isn't it cool. I will, of course be putting up different things as I figure them out.  Right now it has a list of things I will be working on and the Gryffindor Crest Friendship Necklace and a few other miscellaneous things.

And of course, my Love Prevails Chain.  *grins*

I am such a Gryffindor Geek....

I have my bracelet that a friend made for me that represents the Doctor Gryffindor Scarf I made.

It was my first OWL, and I love it.

Oh yeah.... We are going to make the House Cup a Threepeet!!!!

Offically started...

Well I am making it official.  I have been putting it off and not talking about what I want to do but I have decided to make it official.

I am, yet again, walking in the Mary Kay Bee Brave 5K, on October 6th.

Yep, I am doing it.  I started my walking regiment today.  I took Jake-Jake out with me and we walked around the block.

I didn't do the long three block walk which is around a mile but I did the shorter two block walk which is about half that.  Mostly this was because I am fighting some lung crap and didn't feel like hacking a lung up in the process.

I will eventually be looking for pledges for my walk and I have some plans for that too.  Because I don't just walk... I Cardio-Knit Walk.  (geez I feel like a Dairy Queen commercial).  So I will be knitting while I train and then I intend to knit while on the walk as well.

It is for a good cause and an organization I truly believe in.  Keep cheering for me, because I definitely want to do better on my time this year.. not that I kept track last year, but I want to do better this year.

More updates will come as I figure them out.

Money well spent...

I spent money the other day.

It was on something good and worth the money.  I will use what I bought a lot but I spent money.

What did I spend money on?  Well... I know that Leanord approves of it that is for sure, and I did use them a bit this weekend to do some gauge swatching.

Yeah, I got myself the Addiclick set.  They are like butter.

There are all the parts, the cables that will go between the needles, the extenders and the needle gauge.

And of course the needles.  Oh, they are nice to knit on, really they are, very very nice.  I do know my first project I am going to knit on them, I just need to decide on the yarn and the color.  Oh I can not wait.

Now this might be why my shoulder hurts...

Okay... I know it has been a while, again.  But I have a really really really good excuse.

I have been knitting, a lot.  Stop laughing, it is the truth.  I have and I have the picture to prove it.

Yep in the last three months I did all of this... mostly.  The sweater was just sewing on the buttons and weaving in ends but the rest of it I did, and now my shoulder is letting me know too.  I am trying not to knit for the next couple of days.  A lot of pain in my shoulder.

But that is what I have accomplished and it was fun.  I enjoyed it.
